Problems in Church Growth or Health?

Is Jesus Christ the center of all preaching, teaching and church activities?

Is biblical prayer a priority?

Is God’s sovereignty upheld without asterisks?

Is the preaching expository?

Are the songs of worship to God or are they adopted from the world in musical beat and feeling?

Are the lyrics to the songs scrutinized for any man-honoring worship or false teachings?

Does the church service have a sense of solemnity and reverence or does it have the appearance of a happy hour or coffee shop in the mall by the attendant’s laughter, dress styles and drinking vessels?

Is salvation taught as an act solely of the Triune God of the Bible or is it taught that man can overpower God’s willingness to save?

Is any evangelistic Gospel message preached with an easy-believism tune or is the depravity of man and repentance a part of it?

Is it assumed that everyone who listens to the preaching is saved by grace?

Are there even any evangelistic sermons preached throughout the calendar year?

Do lost visitors leave with a feeling of conviction from the preaching or do they think the preacher was “cool?”

If someone claims to be a new regenerate do they have to attend baptism classes before being scripturally baptized?

Are there only scheduled baptisms per year?

If discipline is ever an issue is it only an act of rhetoric or is it fulfilled according to scripture?

Are women allowed, in any way, to teach men or lead men in song worship, prayer meetings or Sunday school classes?

Are people allowed to publicly give salvation testimonies during church services?

Does the church leadership yoke in any fashion in an ecumenical manner or service to local churches that may be misinterpreted as compromising or “no different” to on-lookers?

Is there serious follow-up/visitation to visitors?

Does the church offer literature, i.e. books, tracts, etc. that promote or endorse “famous” pastors or evangelists who are apostate or teach false doctrines?

Does the church allow, encourage or remain silent on New Age issues creeping into the church disguised as Christian like “Christian” yoga, contemplative prayer, holistic health, etc.?

Is there protective discernment in the church leadership?

Are the gifts of the Spirit biblically understood and encouraged?
-
Is Bible prophecy ignored or minimized?
-
Are the people kept on a diet of “spiritual” milk?

Do people attend church because it is what they do?
