Our Indictments - Our Justification
*taken from sermon notes by Dan W. Cozart, Pastor, Grace Baptist Church, Tyler, Texas.
Romans 3:1-19 shows how we are all under sin and guilty thereof:
- There is none righteous, no not one
- There is none that understandeth
- There is none that that seeketh after God
- They are all gone out of the way
- They are together become unprofitable
- There is none that doeth good, no not one
- Their throat is an open sepulcher
- Their tongues have been used for deceit
- Their tongues hide the poison of asp
- Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness
- Their feet are swift to shed blood
- Their ways are for destruction and misery
- Their way of peace they have not known
- There is no fear of God before their eyes
- They are all guilty before God
Romans 3:24-26 shows are a guilty sinner is justified before a Sovereign God:
"Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus."
